Most people have a good idea about the fuel consumption of their vehicles and are able to modify their behaviour as a result but energy used in buildings is different - it's invisible.
Getting people to change their behaviour when they can't really see what it is they are dealing with is difficult.
If we could make the energy used in buildings visible - just like the way we can see the cost of our phone calls - people would start to have a very different attitude to their use of energy and manage it better.
