Metering Trials

GEO have the widest range of display monitors in the industry (8) which are complemented by 4 communication technologies and integrated with 9 meter manufacturers, supported by web and mobile applications. We take pride in helping to develop the market and bring new ideas and innovative approaches and will continue to push forwards with the focus of making energy visible.

Our biggest strength and what sets us apart from other companies is the investment in terms of money and time which we have put into researching the market and our products. Over £500,000 has been injected into research in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia and we believe that this underpins our success to date. We understand what our market wants and likes and have developed our products based on this research.

Energy Efficiency Whitehall

This initiative was launched by the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) with support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change. The aim was to retrofit four government buildings in London to make them more energy efficient and have lower carbon dioxide emissions.

Objectives:

  • To allocate carbon budgets to government departments, which includes emissions from their own buildings and operations
  • To set targets to reduce carbon emissions from government buildings by 12.5% by 2010/11, and 30% by 2020
  • To raise awareness of energy efficiency in large organisations, especially at senior level, and to encourage changes in behaviour and infrastructure

Our Role

Retrofit a Quartet demonstrator system into the Foreign and Commonwealth office, with the aim to:

  • Support the development of feedback loops to connect data about energy use with business decision-making
  • To reduce energy usage outside of office hours by helping to change 'default-to-on' settings
  • Improve facilities management arrangements
