Consumer Trials

When Green Energy Options was set up in 2006 we carried out extensive market research projects in the UK with a mix of online surveys and domestic and commercial focus groups.

Our theory is that we must be in touch with what consumers want in order to continually develop products and be successful. We are now engaged in a number of consumer trials across Europe and have developed products specifically for this purpose.

With an investment of over £350,000 into market research we are leading the field in product design. However, we are also keen to understand how our products are being used and how consumers attitudes to their energy use and energy display change as they use the display over an extended period of time.

Visible Energy Trial (VET) in partnership with the University of East Anglia

The Visible Energy Trial was an ambitious year long trial of three new experimental products (the Solo, Duet and Trio) conducted across three groups of 75 homes in East Anglia.  It is believed to be the first trial that looked at three different types of display alongside each other and contained a significant number of potentially ground breaking functions.
