Minim FAQ
Q. How accurately does it measure electricity?
A. This monitor is not meant to reflect your bills but is over 95% accurate. When you are looking at live electricity consumption in pounds and pence, this is showing you very accurately what you are spending.
Q. Can the Minim be battery powered?
A. No, it is mains powered only.
Q. What is the range of the wireless transmission?
A. Up to 30m.
Q. What type of wireless communications does the Minim use?
A. This unit uses 868 MHZ to communicate with the display.
Q. How much does the Minim cost to run?
A. Less than 1p per month.
Q. How does the Minim work out what I am spending on electricity?
A. You will enter your tariff details from a recent bill onto the Minim so it can calculate the cost.
Q. How does the Minim work out how much carbon is produced from using electricity?
A. We use the official Energy Savings Trust formula for calculating carbon emissions when using electricity.
Q. Am I allowed to go into my fuse board to fit the sensor clip?
A. You do not need to go into your fuse board. The sensor simply clips around the main incomer or meter tail going into the fuse board.
Q. How long will the Minim record data for?
A. Up to 30 days will be stored but you will be able to see recorded information for the following times; yesterday, today, last 7days, last 30 days.
Q. How big is the display?
A. It measures 12.5 width x 7.2cm height.
Q. Can the sensor connect to any of the cable coming out of the fuse board?
A. No, it has to be the live wire which should be indicated. If not, just try each one until you are successful.
Solo FAQ
Q. Can the Solo be battery powered?
A. Yes, but it is designed to be mains powered for everyday operation The batteries are for 'walkabout' so you can go around the house looking at what amounts of electricity different appliance use. At all other times the Solo should be mains powered.
Q. How long do the batteries last?
A. Roughly 24 hours for the display and up to 1 year for the Meter Bug.
Q. What is the range of the wireless transmission?
A. Up to 30m.
Q. How long can the Solo record for?
A. Years, if you want it to! It takes a standard SD card which is capable of recording you many years.
Q. Will the Solo tell me how much I am spending on my heating?
A. No, it shows electricity only. To be able to see your domestic heating, have a look at the Duet energy monitor.
Duet FAQ
Q. How big is the display?
A. It measures 14.5cm height x 7.2cm width.
Q. What are the tick and cross symbols for?
A. These indicate how well you are doing against your normal or average consumption behaviour. A tick shows you are doing well, a cross indicates you are using more energy than normal and are wasting electricity.

Q. Where do I find the serial number in order to register my unit for the MyEnergy website?
A. The serial number is on the base of the display and also on the brown box.
Q. Can the Duet be battery powered?
A. No, it is mains powered only.

Q. How does the Duet measure my heating?
A. The sensor is placed on your boiler output measuring the temperature as the boiler fires up. The display then shows the user when the boiler is firing up and how hard it is working, even when the radiators are on.
Q. How many electrical appliances can be monitored by the Duet?
A. Up to 6 can be monitored. The Duet pack comes with 3 Plug Bugs but additional ones are available to purchase.
Q. How long can the Duet record for?
A. Years, if you want it to! It takes a standard SD card which is capable of recording your data for many years.

Trio and Trio+ FAQ
Q. What is the difference between the Trio and Trio+?
A. The Trio + gives a further level of detail by adding circuit consumption data. In this way, not only are all your major appliances monitored but also your lighting, wall sockets and ovens as well. The Trio+ can also monitor your renewable sources of energy as well and report back on what you are generating, how much you are using and what the net difference is.
Q. Can I remotely access the system from off site?
A. Yes, this is a key benefit of the system.
Q. Can I use my existing PC to run the Trio system?
A. No. It will run very effectively on the hardware we provide.
Q. Can I turn off my router if I go on holiday?
A. The electricity sensors can store up to 30 days of data so when your system is turned back on again it will refresh itself. Temperature and boiler sensors can only store 24 hours worth of data, though.
Q. What happens if I move house?
A. We have a process in place for when you move house or change ISP. Call us on 01223 850 210 to be taken through the process.
Quartet FAQ
Q. What communications method does the system use?
A. A combination of Powerline and ZigBee wireless.
Q. How long does it take to install?
A. Depends on the scale of the project, but an average install takes 1.5 days.
